September 25, 2010 (Stoney Plain) - Timex Series Coordinator Matt Norminton takes you behind the scenes of the 2010 edition of the Melissa's Road Race and disects the race in the perspective of the participants competing in the final race in the 2010 Timex Road Race Series - Alberta's only provincial road race series.

The final race of the 2010 Timex Series series was held in Banff at the Melissa's Road Race.  The Women's final series result was undecided heading into this final race with Lisa Harvey of Calgary and Jennifer Kemp of Edmonton tied to the exact point heading into the race but with Lisa Harvey's win she also took the overall series title.  Lisa ran 37:18 for 10k on the tough course to end the series with 494 points.  2nd place in the race was Ellie Greenwood of Banff who covered the course in 37:37 and Brooke Gosling of Canmore rounded out the top 3 at Melissa's running a solid 39:43.  Jennifer Kemp finished 4th place at Melissa's however it was enough points for her to finish 2nd overall in the series with 478 points.  3rd place in the 2010 Timex series goes to Susan McDonald of St. Albert who didn't run Melissa's but had accumulated enough points through earlier races in the series to hold off Chantell Widney of Edmonton and Shari Boyle of Calgary.

In the Men's results Andrew Carruther's of Calgary did enough at Melissa's to take the overall series title with 465 points by finishing 3rd on the day in the 10k in a time of 34:29.  Dylan Hackenbrooke of Edmonton was the Men's Melissa's 10km champion on the day, running 33:50 to beat Brad Bickely in an exciting race who ran 33:57 on the tough 10k result.  Dylan ended up 2nd in the Timex series with 452 points while Russ McLellan finished 3rd with 380 points.
