» Blue Mile Road Race

Athletics Alberta presents The Blue Mile Road Race to launch the 2012 Edmonton International Athletics Festival. Come out and walk/run/race through Edmonton’s Old Strathcona district and get to run on Edmonton’s most famous street, Whyte Avenue! There will be 4 different races at this year’s 1 miler: The Tilted Mile (an all ages fun run/walk), the Blue Mile (a competitive 1 mile race) and an elite Men and elite Women’s 1 mile race. All races with the exception of the Tilted Mile will be chip timed. Stick around after your race to watch the Elite Men and Women blaze the fast and flat course, vying for over $5000 in prize money and bonuses.

All paying participants will receive a technical running t-shirt (unisex sizes S, M, L, XL) and the first 200 (ages 18 and up) to register online will receive a complimentary Burger and a Beer and entrance to the after party being hosted by The Tilted Kilt on Whyte Avenue featuring live music from the Dungarees!

Great prizes for the top 3 men and women finishers in each age group for the Blue Mile (U20, 20-39, 40-50, 50-60 and 60+).

Elite Prize Money:

1st = $1000
2nd = $700
3rd = $500
4th = $300
5th = $100

*$1000 bonus for the first man to break 4:00 in the Elite Men’s race or first woman to break 4:37 in the Elite Women’s race.
