   Please be advised that Zone 7 Trials (April 28th, 2012) have been cancelled due to inclement weather. New Date May 26, 2012.

The Alberta Summer Games hosts over 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials every 2 years and visits  the different regions of Alberta.  It is Alberta’s premier youth amateur sporting event, along with coaches, officials, parents, families and friends. Thanks to our partner communities who are making it possible to stage this event!

At the Alberta Summer Games, young athletes, ranging in age from 14 to 17  years old, can compete in 15 sporting events, being staged throughout the host region. Athletes compete as representatives of eight zones, representing all regions of Alberta.

Over 2,000 volunteers are required to host these athletes, coaches, officials, family and friends who will travel here during the Games. If you’d like to get involved, please visit the Volunteer section of the website.

Please find the following information on the role of the Zone Sport Representative, the technical package and the schedule for the Alberta Summer Games for your convenience below in the attachment area.

Zone Trials

Athletes are not required to be affiliated with Athletics Alberta. Zone representatives will submit a list of participants to Athletics Alberta for insurance purposes. This is to offset the cost of the team uniform which the athlete keeps. The signed waiver, and online registration must be completed by June 11, 2012.

Provincial Games Registration Fee & Deadline

All zone team competitors, who qualify to compete at the 2012 Alberta Summer Games (excluding coaches and chaperones), are required to pay an individual registration fee of $100.00. This fee will go towards offsetting the costs related to transportation, accommodation, meals, zone identification, medals, athlete entertainment and sport competitions.

Please note that the registration deadline for Athletics is June 19, 2012.
