Track and Field Officiating Clinic

Track and field in Edmonton is a year-round sport. In 2016-17 we will have a very busy indoor season, followed by an outstanding outdoor season. Canadian athletes excelled at the Rio Olympics bringing home more medals in a summer games than ever before, and future Olympians will be participating in the indoor season where you will have a chance to see them and help them develop into our future superstars.

Now is the time to begin your career as a track and field official by attending our introductory officiating clinic. Everybody is welcome. And there is no charge.

PLACE: University of Alberta Room, TBD
WHEN: January 21, 9:30am – 12:00pm

This clinic will provide a general overview and is being held at the same time as the Saturday morning session of the Golden Bear Open. If you wish, you can put into practice what you have learned at the afternoon session of the GBO. Other meets, such as the provincial championships and the Running Room Indoor Games, will provide similar opportunities. As a track and field official, you will be helping to make sure that our athletes, who range in age from peewees to masters, are given an opportunity to do their best under the fairest conditions possible.
